Session II: Serving Charitable Boards: Legal Challenges and Ethical Pitfalls (CLE Ethics)
ACTEC Fellows are frequently called upon to serve on charitable boards and to represent charitable boards and individual board members. Although these experiences can be enormously rewarding, they can be accompanied by significant risk as well as ethical challenges. Too often a charity’s troubles are rooted in a board that is disengaged or has been poorly trained or advised. This panel will explore the underlying legal and ethical principles that support best practices for prudent governance and successful risk management. Do good and do well — and sleep blissfully at night!
